At around September each year, the Society organizes a scientific conference in a major city in Japan, providing health information managers opportunities to exchange information and give presentations on their research activities. Attendance each year exceeds 1,000, and more than 150 presentations are given on a wide range of interesting topics.
At the 33rd annual meeting in Kyoto in 2007, Dr. Bedirhan Üstün, who is the WHO Coordinator for the WHO Family of International Classifications, gave the keynote speech. Top speakers from Japan and abroad are invited to speak on the latest developments and trends in health information.
